The Record Store at MondoCon

MondoCon 2015 is quickly approaching, and this week we’ll be highlighting some of the labels joining us for the weekend. For the uninitiated, MondoCon is our annual celebration of everything that we love: Posters, Music, Toys & Collectibles, and most importantly - the artists and labels who create these wonderful works. It's happening the weekend of October 2nd - 4th in Austin, TX beginning with Fabio Frizzi's first ever US performance of FRIZZI 2 FULCI, a live show featuring work from the films of Lucio Fulci. You can find more information about the performance here.
Then, starting on Saturday October 3rd, we open the convention doors and welcome our friends and fans to explore and interact with dozens of artists and labels from around the world. But as this is our music mailer, we'd like to focus on the musical components of MondoCon.

We’ll be premiering our vinyl soundtrack releases for both Black Swan by Clint Mansell and Army Of Darkness by Joe LoDuca during the weekend. Black Swan comes as a 2XLP set with artwork by Sam Wolfe Connolly and is pressed on White & Blue vinyl. Army Of Darkness features artwork by Richey Beckett and is pressed on ‘Black Vortex Swirl’ vinyl.

On top of that we'll have previously unreleased variant versions of two of our 2015 releases AND a fully stocked store with all available titles that are still in print, test pressings, and a few last remaining copies of some previously sold out / rare titles.

DWRC will be releasing The Black Belly Of The Tarantula by Ennio Morricone, an an edition of just 500 multicolor splatter LPs housed inside a gatefold jacket. Additionally, Death Waltz will have the remaining event copies of both Fabio Frizzi LPs (The Beyond & Frizzi 2 Fulci Live) as well as an exclusive Umberto 7’ to accompany his live re-score of Pieces, taking place on Sunday night. You can find out more about that performance / screening here. There are still a few tickets left!

Light In The Attic will have upfront copies of Full Moon’s Puppetmaster: The Movie Collection vinyl and Wolfcop deluxe edition with bonus 7-inch. And of course, their usual selection of killer soundtracks/reissues.

Lunaris Records will have a limited-edition MondoCon exclusive cassette of Night of The Demons packaged in a clamshell case with exclusive alternate artwork, in addition to colored copies of Night of The Demons on 2XLP and CD.

They will also be bringing along an assortment of quality used Japanese pressings of rare and classic horror/anime/cult soundtracks on vinyl.

Strange Disc will have an exclusive MondoCon edition of Slime City (75 hand numbered copies with alternate artwork), the remaining copies of Surf Nazis Must Die on vinyl & cassette, as well as some ORIGINAL Surf Nazis t-shirts from back in the day that they discovered in a warehouse!

Terror Vision will be bringing copies of their new release From A Whisper To A Scream by Jim Manzie. They will also have a few surprises up their sleeves that even we don’t know about…

The NYC-based label will be bringing the last remaining colored vinyl copies of Class Of Nuke 'Em High & Martin plus some screen-printed posters and previewing some forthcoming titles.

Mondo & Death Waltz will once again be hosting their Audyssey pop up record store which will curate a killer selection of titles from labels unable to make the event in person, such as MilanData Discs, & Ghost Box. We’ll also have a huge selection of European pressings courtesy of Transmission Records in the UK including titles such as Moon by Clint Mansell & Umberto’s Pieces re-score The Night Has A Thousand Screams. They'll also have a curated selection of 2015’s best library and Italian soundtrack re-issues.
