Last Friday we hosted the opening reception for Tom Whalen's solo show, Pulp Menagerie! The vibrant posters showcased at the gallery feature a mix of properties including Back to the Future, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Daredevil, The Boxtrolls, High Noon and more. Paul Frasco's origami sculptures, created entirely out of posters featured in the show, add a really cool dimension to the exhibit. Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by for the opening! Pulp Menagerie runs through June 6th, and gallery hours are Tuesday - Saturday from 12pm - 6pm.
We worked with Viewer Ready, an Austin based company specializing in Virtual Reality and 360 experiences, to create 1:1 scale of the gallery show using photos of the space for reference and textures. Throughout the opening, fans were invited to put on a VR headset and stand in the same spot they were already standing in, virtually.
The 360 Mondo Gallery on YouTube lets you move and look wherever you want. It can be experienced in augmented reality with an ANDROID phone, or with a mouse when using the CHROME browser via a computer. There is no additional software to download, just open the YouTube player below!
